For a .au domain name to be promptly registered by auDA, there should be no contention for the domain either with your own third-level domains, or that owned by another applicant. Kindly use the auDA priority status tool to identify any contention issues.
All domain contention issues between contending parties will be resolved after 10 AM AEST on Sep 21, 2022. Hence, domain registration periods vary depending on the contention status of the applicants, as per the following situations:
Case 1: If your domain application with priority 1 rights is in contention with that of one or more applications with priority 2 rights, your application will go through within one business day (24 hours) and the domain will be granted to you. The conceding applicants will withdraw their application by using the auDA priority token tool.
Case 2: If your domain application with priority 2 rights is in contention with two or more applications with priority 2 rights, then the domain will be granted to the applicant with the earliest creation date. The domain will be granted to the domain winner within one business day (24 hours). The conceding applicants will withdraw their application by using the auDA priority token tool.
Case 3: If your domain application with priority 1 rights is in contention with two or more applications with priority 1 rights, then you would need to proactively contact the other owners to break the contention and decide the ownership. Once this decision is made, the conceding applicants will need to withdraw their application by using the auDA priority token tool. The domain winner will have their domain registered within one business day (24 hours).
Note: Conceding applicants will receive an email confirming that the domain that is no longer in contention has been moved to the 'Declined' status.
